At Caffe Tech we get the Same question asked all the time - Why Purchase Machines From a Canadian Retailer vs. a USA Retailer?
Of course it's quite simple for most Canadians to do the simple conversion rate of $1.00 CDN to $1.00 US but there are other importation costs associated with the transaction.
Here is how Importation works:
- Chris at Chris' Coffee will only ship by UPS World Wide Express at an average of $170.00 USD which includes brokerage.
- UPS will charge 28% on top of the Invoice Value of the machine so if the machine cost you $1000.00 USD or $1000.00 CDN, this will translate to $1280.00 which will include PST, GST, DUTY and customs.
Here's an example.
ANDREJA PREMIUM: $1450.00 USD From Chris' Coffee in
Albany, NY
CANADIAN EQUIVALENT at $1.00 = $1450.00
PST, GST, CUSTOMS and DUTY = $406.00
FREIGHT (INCL BROKERAGE) = $170.00
TOTAL = $2026.00
NOTE: WARRANTY NOT INCLUSIVE, PARTS ONLY - Of which CDN customers will be
responsible for freight, customs, duties and taxes
